About Me

If this is the first time we have met, then please allow me to tell you a little about myself.

Well, you already know my name, so that’s a start.  Like a lot of presenters, I started out on hospital radio; collecting requests, choosing records even being involved in on-air discussions.

Whilst doing this, I was studying for my degree in Journalism where I spent four months in Los Angeles, California, writing and editing both the college newspaper and magazine.  I can assure you that a lot of er… studying was done, but also meeting the likes of Quincy Jones, sitting outside Michael Jackson’s parents’ house (don’t ask) and shaking hands with the then President William Jefferson Clinton, doesn’t begin to describe it.

After I gained my degree, I applied to my local BBC radio station to work on an entertainment weekend show with Crucial Robbie.  I again took telephone requests and just made myself willing and able to do anything.  Eventually, I was given a mini slot on the show where I picked the stories of the week.  This was priceless training as I got to know what worked and what didn’t.  When Crucial Robbie left, I worked alongside Angie Greaves.  Now there are not many high profile black breakfast and television broadcasters in the media, so you get the picture when I say I was completely “star struck” to be working with her. 

So after she left for even dizzier heights, I was there ready to take the reigns; and here I am today, both presenter and producer of my own radio show and now my own website.
